Crocs come crawling.

Hey it's the Stansberry Blog!  Welcome.  Never thought our first post would be about crocs, but you don't ever really know what to expect here.  A few weeks ago we were asked to gather up shoe sizes for all our kids.  Cindy complied and we sent a list back to social services.  Aparently Crocs Cares was making a large donation of crocs to the children's homes in Bolivia.  Alex and a few of the kids were invited to an "entrega symbolico," ceremonial presentation of the shoes.  They got to see the govenor and were given their shoes that day.  Everyone else had to wait.  Finally two days ago the rest of the shoes arrived unannounced.  As is often the case the entire donation "hadn't  arrived" so we were given 22 pairs of shoes.  The kids all got to try them on and find sizes that fit.  Thankfully almost everyone, except for a few kids who weren't home, got a brand new pair of crocs.  Crocs seem to be one thing that last longer on the feet of our lovelies.  Tenis shoes are great but they get worn down pretty fast with all the running around outside and on the cement courts.  Flip flops are the go to but they have a very short lifespan.  Now everyone has fully protected brightly colored feet.

While they were giving the shoes to the kids the director of social services was saying how "these are a gift from the govenor and do you know who the governor is?"  He asked one of our seven year olds and her answer was "Tio Carlos!"  It was an akward moment for him and a funny one for us.  Alex jumped in with "what are they teaching kids in school these days."  We think it's pretty great that she thinks Tio Carlos is the govenor.
These are the some of the styles the kids were given.
That guy on the right.  He is the real governor, RubĂ©n Costas.  Sorry Chuck.  Still not sure exaclty who to say thank you too but we really appreciate the shoes!!!
